The Friends of the Wembdon Road Cemetery are delighted to announce the publication of a new guidebook, A Walk in the Wembdon Road Cemetery. This has been generously funded by Bridgwater Town Council and Sedgemoor District Council.
The guide takes the form of a short walk round the cemetery, taking in eighteen important or significant memorials and features. Here you will find out about the history of the cemetery and the people buried there: men, women, rich, poor, scientists, industrialists, soldiers and more. You will also learn about the Friends' efforts in the conservation of this special place. Funds raised from the sale of the booklet will be put towards a future project, a sensory garden for the disabled, which we hope to locate in the ruins of the former Anglican chapel.
The booklet is 30 pages in length and is full colour. This is available for £2 for members and £2.50 for non-members (both £1 for p & p). To purchase, use the paypal button below, or send us an email.
